The Euro standard is the criterion used by Belgian and foreign authorities for access to low emission zones (LEZ). It is also used by the Flemish Region for the calculation of car taxes.

To find out the Euro standard for your car, simply look in box V9 of your registration certificate (grey card). The standard may also be specified on the European certificate of conformity. For a second-hand car, you can find it on the Car-Pass. In the absence of these documents or the declaration of the car's standard, the date of first  registration should be assumed to be the reference date.
